Shortlisting Criteria National Ph.D Applicants Semester-II,2024-25

1. DoD, IITD is using the following PhD shortlisting criteria for the admissions of Indian applicants in

    semester- II, 2024-25. The shortlisting criteria is attached as Annexure-1 below. Post-shortlisting,

    the selection process would involve:

 

  1. Submission of a Statement of Purpose and a Research Statement by the shortlisted applicants. They will be encouraged to interact with the faculty members of the Department, while writing these.
  2. The shortlisting for the interview will be based on the quality of the submitted Statement of Purpose and Research Statement by each candidate and its relevance to the interests of a faculty member in the Department. The final proposed research topic has to be relevant to at least one of the faculty members in the Department
  3. Only those applicants shortlisted from step (b) will be invited for the online oral interview. The selection in this round will be based on the overall motivation to do research, overall preparedness to carry out research, and preparation of the candidate in the research area proposed in the research statement. Successful candidates in this round will be offered a Ph.D. position at DoD, IITD.
