Curriculum Design for Vocational Courses

This project involved a curriculum development for Hunar Sikhya Schools of Applied Learning under the Punjab School Education Board for ‘Digital Design & Development’ (DDD) is. The curriculum is integrated under vocational courses and brings together the core skills and knowledge of Digital Design, Development, and Digital Marketing.

The Digital Design and Development (DDD) trade has been designed to equip learners with end-to-end competencies in the design and development of digital content, with a strong emphasis on marketing perspectives. The program integrates visual design for digital screens, leading to the creation of interactive user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX), which remain among the most sought-after skills in today’s job market.

In addition to UI/UX, the curriculum incorporates development skills through low-code and no-code platforms, enabling students to link design with development without requiring extensive knowledge of coding languages. This approach reflects the evolution of modern computing technologies and prepares learners to seamlessly transition from design to development.

A unique feature of this curriculum is its alignment with digital marketing strategies, ensuring that students not only acquire technical expertise but also develop the ability to create strategic online experiences essential for engaging and retaining audiences. Alongside these competencies, the curriculum emphasizes legal and ethical considerations, cultural sensitivities, and business objectives, providing students with a holistic perspective on digital practices.

To make learning impactful, the program leverages localized and real-world examples that resonate with students’ day-to-day experiences and cultural contexts. This contextual approach enhances both understanding and motivation, while the inclusion of industry-relevant trends ensures the curriculum remains current and future-ready.

Over two years, students will engage in immersive, practice-oriented learning through assignments, projects, and portfolio development. This structure equips them with technical proficiency while fostering adaptability, creativity, and innovative qualities essential for success in the dynamic field of digital design and development.
